After a few seasons of barely-there lips on the runways, the super-pigmented power pout makes a welcome comeback for spring. While it’s still all about making a bold statement, this time out, pretty much anything goes colour-wise–from orange-red to magenta and even deep berry. While your application doesn’t have to be perfect, (makeup artists applied lip colour with their fingers and even diffused the edges with a cotton swab to make it look slightly less precise), you do want your lipstick to last through the day. Use a lip primer or pencil to give the colour something to hold onto, or choose a long-wearing lipstick or one with a primer built in. The latest generation of lipsticks are more pigmented than ever before, which also helps with staying power. As for colour, don’t be afraid to experiment with new shades and try something that’s out of your comfort zone. And know this: a bold pop of colour on the lips can work wonders and wake up your whole face, not to mention, make you look polished in an instant.
